Empowering Adults Through Innovative Therapy

Your Journey, Our Expertise

Gaitee H Beu, MA, LCPC, NCC
I don’t think therapy heals because of a technique. I think it heals because two people are willing to be honest with each other, one of them trained to stay present, the other finding the courage to be truly seen. That, underneath everything else, is the work. My orientation is psychodynamic and Internal Family systems (IFS), which means I believe your past is still living quietly inside your present, shaping choices you think you’re making freely. I’m also trained in EMDR, for the parts of your history your mind understands but your body has never been able to let go of.
I work mostly with adults who carry complex trauma and ADHD, often more than one woven into the other. Everyone carries a past that still moves through them. These particular histories just make that truth louder, and much harder to outrun. Many of my clients have become extraordinarily good at performing a self that keeps everyone else comfortable. I’m less interested in that performed self than in the one underneath it, the one that has been waiting, often for a long time, to be met without flinching. I believe you need to be accompanied, closely and honestly, while you find your own way back to the parts of yourself that got buried under everything you had to do to survive.
So, if you’re tired of performing wellness and ready for someone to sit with you in what’s actually true, even the parts that are messy or frightening or hard to say out loud, I would be honored to be that person.
